Lakulish International Fellowship

An order embracing initiated disciples, devoted followers, committed workers and those participating in LIFE Mission’s activities, is raised to constitute a Fellowship. This order is structured in the manner as indicated by Lord Lakulish to Swami Rajarshi Muni, and is known as Lakulish International Fellowship.

Those who have received Mantra Diksha (initiation) either from Swami Kripalvanand, the past guru of the Lakulish spiritual tradition, or from its present guru Swami Rajarshi Muni, automatically stand included in the Fellowship. All persons participating in the programs and activities of the Culture Centers of the Mission also become members of the Fellowship automatically.  In addition, persons interested in the work of human uplift and rendering service in such work of the mission will as a special case be included in the Fellowship. In such cases the final decision about admittance will be taken by the present kulguru (spiritual head) of the tradition.

The Fellowship is divided into two wings, namely: 1. Nivrutti (renunciant) and 2. Pravrutti (worldly). Those fully committed to the liberation of the self or seeking personal spiritual progress as the sole objective of life and as such being practitioners of yoga, are covered under the Nivrutti wing.  For such devotees, activities involving social welfare and service are of subsidiary importance. The Pravrutti wing is comprised of workers committed to a life of service for the common good.  For them, special importance is given to religious discipline rather than to spiritual sadhana. One joining in the Nivrutti side has to sacrifice the worldly activities and live as a lifelong spiritual seeker. Such a person is initiated by the spiritual head of the Mission in Brahmchari, Vanaprasthi or Sannyasi status.  Normally, householders bound by duty to the worldly life but committed to the cause of service for the public good are initiated in the Pravrutti wing.  Nevertheless, if anyone from the Nivrutti wing becomes interested in works intended for the public good, they too can join in the Pravrutti wing with the permission of the spiritual head.
